As the government machinery has taken prior measures and damage-control drives to deal with the cyclone, major parts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai are gradually coming back to normalcy.

Chief Minister MK Stalin toured several parts of Chennai on Saturday to took stock of the damages brought by the cyclone and how they are being fixed. 

It has been reported that two people from Chennai and two people from its neighboring Kancheepuram have died due to rain-related incidents. 

The wind speed had also touched 85 kmph. The frontliners were on high alert to respond to the havoc and damages reported by the people. 

The visuals from the city have shown that such damages are being addressed and similarly, such relief works were expedited in northern districts of Tamil Nadu. 

Mandous will be making landfall during the midnight hours of December 9 and it will cross north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts.

The city administration has released emergency helpline numbers amid the mayhem that is caused by incessant showers in the city with the prediction of heavy rainfall.

The Tamil Nadu government has said 12 teams comprising nearly 400 personnel of NDRF have been deployed in ten districts.

The state governments of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh have deployed the frontliners as the shores of three states are preparing for the landfall of Cyclone Mandous.
