MK Stalin has announced that the lockdown will be extended for another two weeks till September 6 and unveiled a pile of relaxations which will come into effect from Monday.
Zydus Cadila has said that it has planned to manufacture 100 million to 120 million doses of ZyCoV-D pandemic annually and has started to stock the doses.
He was addressing reporters in Trichy on Saturday during which he threw more weight to the government's affirmation of reopening the schools on September 1.
As the Covid-19 threat hasn't been fully mitigated, the government has released a slew of guidelines to the schools that need to be followed during functioning.
However, the students are counting days of wait for the final decision as the government is yet to divulge the confirmation that the schools will be reopened from September 1.
Earlier, the government has also instructed the school education department to initiate measures to work out the resumptions from September 1 by adhering to the Covid-19 protocols.
Some of the other reasons include fear of death after vaccination, a phobia of injections, fear of contracting the virus after the vaccine, complacency, and unavailability of choice of the vaccine.
On the other hand, the state government has signalled a possible resumption of physical classes, not for every class, but only for the secondary and higher secondary students from Classes 9 to 12.
