Liz Truss (47) has won the race and is all set to become the next British Prime Minister, succeeding outgoing premier Boris Johnson and defeating his rival Rishi Sunak.
As the incumbent parliament stays with a majority from the Conservative party, around 1.6 lakh Tory members will be electing their next party leader, who will become the new prime minister.
On Thursday, Boris Johnson said, "It now clearly the will of the parliamentary Conservative party that there should be a new leader of the party and therefore, a new Prime Minister."
With India making arrangements to host him, Johnson would have made a history of becoming the first British Prime Minister to attend India's Republic Day after three decades.
The survey has excluded certain prominent leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
