In an official statement, BCCI said, "Rishabh will undergo surgery and subsequent procedures for ligament tears and will continue to be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team throughout his recovery and rehabilitation."

Ganguly will be contesting for the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal and the polls will be held on October 31. 

While three major names - Ganguly, Dravid, and Laxman have come together, the door is most likely open for Sachin Tendulkar. 

This is the third time that Ganguly has been hospitalized this year. He was admitted to the hospital twice and underwent emergency angioplasty after suffering from cardiac issues.
