The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a case against BBC India under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) for committing violations in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). 

The authorities said that the exercise would continue for some more time and stated that the exact time frame to call the operation closed rests entirely on the teams on the ground. 

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that no one is above law and the IT department will share an official statement after the raids.

The United States on Tuesday said it is aware of the survey conducted at the BBC offices by the Indian tax authorities and refrained from offering its judgment.

BBC's offices in Delhi and Mumbai had come under the scanner of the Income Tax department as the IT sleuths have stormed the offices and unfolded raids on Tuesday- February 14. 

The Delhi police have on Friday detained 24 students from Delhi University for planning to screen the documentary in the campus. 

The trend of screening was rampant in various universities as several student groups' have gone an extra mile in taking the documentary to the masses.
