Superstar Rajinikanth gives a big surprise to the movie team of Vikram starred 'Mahaan'!

Chiyaan Vikram starred 'Mahaan' was released on Thursday - February 10 directly on Amazon Prime. Mahaan has become one of the unforgettable movies for Vikram on many fronts - the first big movie for him to get released on OTT and the first movie in which he shares the screen space with his son Dhruv.

The cast and the storyline had attracted more expectations from the fans and the movie was awarded a decent reception. In what has become the first movie for Vikram after three years, Mahaan is been celebrated by his fans, thanks to the director for bringing the father and son on the same screen. Mahaan is also the first big release on the OTT for Tamil cinema in the current year.

Amid a good rating, the movie team has got a big surprise on Friday- February 11 and director Karthik Subbaraj has shared that surprise on social media. Superstar Rajinikanth has called Karthik Subbaraj after watching Mahaan. The iconic actor has commended the movie and wished the team. Taking to Twitter, Karthik Subbaraj wrote, "Excellent movie...Superb performances...Brilliant. Yes...Thalaivar loveeeed Mahaan. Thanks for your call Thalaivaaa...We are Elated!!."

His tweet has been going viral and the movie stars have been thanking the superstar for his wishes. It must be noted that Karthik Subbaraj had directed Rajinikanth in the movie 'Petta'. Made as an action thriller film, Mahaan is bankrolled by SS Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. While Vikram plays the lead role, Dhruv Vikram, Simran, Bobby Simha, Vani Bhojan, Sananth, Deepak Paramesh, and Aadukalam Naren play important roles.

Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music and Shreyaas Krishna and Vivek Harshan had done cinematography and editing respectively. Apart from the original version, the movie was dubbed and released in Malayalam and Telugu under the same title and in Kannada under the title Maha Purusha.
