Superstar Rajinikanth is back in action as he has joined the floors of the 'Annaatthe' shooting, which has been underway in Hyderabad. The shooting has got resumed after remaining shut down for four months. It was suspended in December 2020 after some of the crew members had tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection.
The resumption of the shooting has drawn more significance and it has been in full swing with the motive of hitting the big screens on November 4 this year, during Diwali. Rajinikanth had on April 8 flown to Hyderabad from Chennai in a charter flight to take part in the shooting and in what has become one of the relishing moments for the fans, a picture of the Superstar from the shooting spot was released on Monday.
Annaatthe is bankrolled by Sun Pictures and the production house has on Monday shared Rajinikanth's photo from the shooting spot. Taking to Twitter, Sun Pictures posted the picture and captioned it as "Annaatthe from the shooting spot". Rajinikanth was seen in the picture with the traditional attire along with movie's director Siva. The photo, with the background of a sunset, was clicked when both Rajinikanth and Siva exchanging their smile.
The picture has implied that it was taken in a rural area and it has been rampantly getting spread across social media with several ardent fans of the Superstar saying that they are eagerly waiting for the movie. Annaatthe would be Rajini's 168th movie and it is the first time the Superstar has joined hands with Siva, who is popularly known for directing Ajith in several consecutive movies including Veeram, Vedhalam, and Viswasam.
While Rajini plays the lead role, the movie has roped in Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, and Jagapathi Babu in important roles. National award-winning music director Imman has composed music for this movie and Ruben has taken care of editing. The team works to release the movie on November 4, 2021, during the Diwali Holidays.
Annaatthe had seen several suspensions earlier when Siva's father demised and in the wake of COVID-19 spread. In December last year, Rajini had flown to Hyderabad along with other stars including Nayanthara for the shooting. However, the entire movie team was shocked after some of the crew members had tested positive for the pandemic. Though Rajinikanth tested negative for the virus, he had spent a few days at a private hospital in Hyderabad due to severe blood pressure.
After two days of hospitalization, he has returned to Chennai and was staying at his residence. He has on last week left to Hyderabad to take part in the shooting, days after the Tamil Nadu assembly polls. It must be noted that Rajinikanth was last seen in Darbar that was directed by AR Murugadoss. Darbar had Nayanthara as the female lead and it got released in January 2020. Though it wasn't a blockbuster hit, it had received mixed reactions. Recently, Rajinikanth was conferred with India's highest honor for Cinema - Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
