The buzz around Kamal Haasan’s ambitious production ‘STR 48’ is getting louder by the day. The film, which is a historical drama set in the pre-independence era, will mark the second directorial venture of Desingh Periasamy, who made his debut with the critically acclaimed ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’.
But the biggest surprise of the film's title and the first look will be revealed on February 2, which coincides with Simbu’s birthday. The production house has now announced the news by taking to X, wrote, "#STR48 making its First Twinkle on 2nd February. Let the Celebrations Begin!".
The film has already created a lot of excitement among the fans as it will feature Simbu in a dual role of both the hero and the villain. Simbu, who is known for his versatility and charisma, will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar in this film. The actor has reportedly undergone a massive physical transformation for his role and has also learned sword fighting and horse riding for the film.
According to some reports, Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is in talks to star opposite Simbu in this epic saga. Deepika, who is currently busy with her Bollywood projects like ‘Fighter’ and ‘The Intern’, has not confirmed or denied the news yet. Keerthy Suresh and Pooja Hegde are also being considered for the role.
‘STR 48’ is expected to go on floors soon and will be shot in various locations across India. The film is being produced by Kamal Haasan under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International. The music will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad. ‘STR 48’ is one of the most anticipated films of the year and promises to be a visual spectacle with a gripping story and stellar performances.
