DMK President and Tamil Nadu assembly's opposition leader M.K.Stalin has on Thursday addressed his party members not to celebrate his birthday as he was not in the good-tempered mindset to celebrate his birthday at the time when party's general secretary and closest aide of late leader Karunanidhi, K Anbazhagan has been showing poor health conditions and receiving treatment in the hospital in Chennai.
In the statement released by him, Stalin stated that he is not in the state of mind to celebrate his birthday when K Anbazhagan is ill. He further stated that Anbazhagan has dedicated and contributed 75 years of his life for the Tamil Language and the Dravidian movement.
By expressing his mindset, Stalin requested the senior leaders, cadres, members, and his well-wishers not to meet him or greet him on his birthday. He asked the party members to hope and to wish the party's general secretary to have a speedy and swift recovery from his ailment. Stalin is going to mark his 67th birthday on March 1st.
DMK party has been coming through the shocking news for the past two days after the sudden demise of the party's MLAs. On Thursday, DMK MLA of Thiruvottyur KPP Samy has passed away in his home. Samy was suffering from kidney illness and he was 57 and he served in assembly as MLA for two times and as the fisheries minister in the cabinet of then Chief Minister Karunanidhi. DMK President Stalin and senior leaders had paid homage to Samy at his residence.
Exactly one day after the demise of Samy, DMK MLA of Gudiyatham constituency had passed away on Friday (Feb 28th, 2020) in Apollo Hospitals, Chennai where he was receiving treatments. Kathavarayan was 58 and he was elected to the assembly from Gudiyatham constituency in the by-elections that held for 18 constituencies in May 2019. He is one of the DMK leaders who were imprisoned for protesting against the Hindi imposition and he had held various posts at the district level. Kathavarayan was unmarried and he was surviving with his brother's family.
