'Stalin is not DMK Chief': ADMK Minister stirs controversy with his new claim!

As Tamil Nadu has been witnessing heated politics between the political parties ahead of the legislative assembly polls, the ruling ADMK has staunchly been campaigning against its arch-rival DMK to retain the reign and on Sunday, Tamil Nadu Minister and senior ADMK leader D Jayakumar has put out the fresh charge against DMK by claiming that Stalin is not the DMK President and the party is currently ruled by political strategist Prashant Kishor.

Prashant Kishor has been working with DMK and strategizing the policies and manifestos for the opposition party. On Sunday, ADMK minister Jayakumar was addressing a public program and during his address, the minister has accused Prashant Kishor of being the real power in the Dravidian party and said that Stalin is not the real leader of the party. As the minister's remarks caught with outrage and controversy, the DMK had flayed the ruling party for degrading Stalin.

Referring to Sunil Kanugolu, who is the political strategist for ADMK, the DMK Spokesperson said that the same logic will be applied to the ruling party and stated that Sunil should be called as the ADMK leader instead of Edappadi Palaniswami. The spokesperson of the opposition party had accused ADMK of double-speaking and said that the ruling ADMK has been waiting for an opportunity to attack DMK to divert people's attention from their failures and betrayals to Tamil Nadu.

The DMK Spokesperson said if ADMK claims that Prashant Kishor is the DMK President, the ruling party should also admit that Prashant Kishor is also the president of BJP, as he is also working with the Central ruling party. By citing that Sunil was stolen from DMK, the opposition party had asked minister Jayakumar to clarify who Sunil is.

Prashant Kishor is the founder of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) and he manages elections for both state and central parties and his team would be taking care of framing the policies, campaigns, and carrying out research for the party for which it has been working. According to reports, the political parties have been hiring teams like I-PAC to manage their campaign during the elections in recent years.

Prashant Kishor is experienced in working with the BJP, YSRCP, AAP, and JDU for the elections and DMK had hired him in February 2020 and the DMK has tasked I-PAC to advise and strategize the party in a way to take over the reign in the upcoming assembly elections. Through DMK, Prashant Kishor has made his entry into Tamil Nadu.

On the other hand, Sunil Kanugolu was working with Prashant Kishor during PM Narendra Modi's 2014 campaign for the Lok Sabha polls. Sunil was working with DMK since 2015 and he was brought in to the party as a consultant in 2015 and Sunil played a strong role in MK Stalin's campaign of 'Namakku Naame' during the 2016 assembly polls. However, Stalin lost the election and there was a recent dispute between him and the party following which Sunil quit from DMK.

Sunil was close to Stalin and the latter's son-in-law Sabareesh and he has now become Prashant Kishor's counterpart in the ADMK as the state ruling party had inducted Sunil in June 2020. He was roped by Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami to work for the ADMK and he has been working for the ruling party in framing the policies and campaigns ahead of the assembly polls.
