The stage is set in Washington, DC amid the unprecedented scale of security deployment as the United States of America prepares to welcome Joe Biden as its next president. Biden will be swearing-in as the 46th President of the United States on Wednesday while the US will also write a new history through the swearing-in of Kamala Harris, as she would be taking the oath as the nation's first female Vice-President.
Marking an end of Trump's regime that bids farewell by presenting a symbol of insurrection, division, and rhetoric, the US nears for a historical inauguration amid testing and distressing times. President-elect Joe Biden has returned to Washington on Tuesday, a day ahead of the inauguration with the message of unity and the challenging task of fixing and healing the wounded principles of democracy.
Biden addressed in Delaware before boarding to Washington DC and in his address, he said, "I'm honored to be your next President and Commander-in-Chief". During his short speech, Biden went emotional and shedded tears and said, "This is a kind of emotion and it's deeply personal that our journey to Washington starts here" and he also spoke about the national guard building that was named after his son Beau Biden and emotionally said, "I will always be a proud son of the state of Delaware".
Biden said that 12 years ago Barack Obama, a black man, greeted him at the train platform before he became his Vice President, and now he departs to meet a Black woman of South Asian descent to become the Vice President. The incoming president had thanked the residents of Delaware. He said, "My fellow Delawareans, on behalf of the entire Biden family, we will never be able to fully express what you mean to us".
"In our family, the values we share, the character we strive for, the way we view the world it all comes from home, from Delaware", Biden added before departing to Washington DC. He boarded a private plane and left his home state of Delaware and arrived at Joint Air Force Base Andrews on his way to the nation's capital. He was accompanying the incoming First Lady Jill Biden, his family members, and grandchildren.
The incoming first family had arrived in Washington DC on Tuesday and drove to the National Mall where Biden had visited a memorial to the lives claimed by the COVID-19 pandemic at the reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Vice-President Kamala Harris and her husband Douglas Emhoff had joined the Bidens at the memorial to pay respect to the lives lost due to the pandemic. More than four lakh Americans have died due to the pandemic.
In an unprecedented fashion, the inauguration will be held under the surveillance of large-scale security apparatus as over 25,000 security personnel have been deployed for the inauguration ceremony in the wake of the insurrection of the pro-Trump mob which stormed the US Capitol Hill on January 6. Washington and the entire nation is all set to welcome Joe Biden to replace Tutumplous Trump and to drive the country towards unity and development.
After swearing-in, 78-year-old Joe Biden will become the oldest president of the US in its history while the 74-year-old outgoing President Trump is the second oldest. In public life spanning for nearly five decades from the youngest senator to the oldest president, Joe Biden has said that history is in the making as he will be swearing-in along with Kamala Harris, the first female Vice President of the United States.
56-year-old Kamala Harris has resigned as the US Senator from California after getting elected as the Vice President and she will become the first African American and Indian origin to occupy the second-highest office of the United States. At 10 pm Indian time on Wednesday, Joe Biden will be swearing-in as the 46th President of the United States and Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts will be administering the oath of office at the very monument that was sieged by the Trump mob.
I lost a brother and have seen my parents reel from the pain. The grief of absence is so powerful on big occasions when you so wish they were there. This touched me deeply. It’s something those missing a loved one understand well. What a good, humble, empathetic man @JoeBiden is. pic.twitter.com/oe4f448uad

Tonight, in Washington, D.C. and across the nation, we came together to honor the over 400,000 Americans we’ve lost to COVID-19. The last year has tested us in unimaginable ways, but now it’s time we begin to heal and overcome — together. pic.twitter.com/DuWhN1xjNO
