Sending hope for the fans and fraternities amid their heartfelt prayers for the speedy recovery of playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam (74), SP Charan has, on Wednesday, said his father has been recovering from his deteriorated health condition.
SP Charan has been releasing the update concerning his father's health condition along with the hospital since the singer was hospitalized after tested positive for COVID-19 viral infection. In his latest update that he released on Wednesday, he poured a positive development by confirming that his father is conscious, has made the first step towards recovery, and was listening to music at the hospital.
In his video message, SP Charan said, "He is doing much better than how he was the day before yesterday. There is a slight improvement in the lungs, he is feeling comfortable without sedation. The doctors are happy that he has taken the first step of recovery. Though it won't be a fast run, it will be slow and steady and this is the first step. I visited my father on Wednesday and he was more awake and responding better than Monday".
"During this week, he will be able to write to communicate with me. He is also listening to music and tapping to the music and he is also trying to sing and these are very good signs of recovery", Charan added and his statement had poured a relief for millions of fans of the legendary singer.
MGM Healthcare hospital, where the singer is getting treated, has released a bulletin in which it has said, "Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare due to COVID-19 is conscious and responsive and continues to be closely monitored by our multidisciplinary clinical team". The hospital stated that "The singer continues to be on ventilator and ECMO support in the Intensive Care Unit and his current clinical condition is stable".
On Monday, SP Charan said that he had met his father in the ICU after two weeks and he was awake and showed a thumbs-up sign. His update, that came three weeks after the singer was hospitalized, had given hope for his fans and fraternities who have been extending their prayers and Wednesday's update had taken the hope further that SPB will be recovered soon and would continue giving his unparalleled contribution and inspiration for millions.
On August 5, the singer said he has tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection and while he said he had a mild infection and would be recovered in two days, his health took a wrong turn on August 14 after it had attained a setback and deterioration. He was then spelled to be at a critical state and moved to the ICU with life support. Last week, fans across the state had held a mass prayer for his speedy recovery as he battled the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last Friday, the hospital said he had returned to stable and continues to be at the ICU under the support of the ventilator and ECMO. The hospital further said that the medical team attending him has been collaborating with the international experts. The latest development has come days after the rumor surfaced around his health condition that he has tested negative for the COVID-19 viral infection.
