Tamil director-actor Mysskin, known for his unconventional films, has landed in trouble for his controversial comment on chain smoking at the trailer launch of Dinosaurs. The event was held at Satyam Theater in Royapettah, Chennai recently.

Dinosaurs is a gangster drama directed by MR Madhavan and starring Udhay Karthik, Rishi Rithvik and Sai Priya Deva. The film’s trailer was unveiled by Tips Tamil and received a positive response from the viewers.Mysskin, who was one of the guests at the launch, praised the film and said that he was sure it would be a hit.

He then added that Madhavan’s face looked like that of a chain smoker and said that he himself used to smoke 100 cigarettes a day while shooting for his films like Chithiram Pesuthadi and Anjathe. He claimed that smoking more was necessary for a director who was concerned about his film.

This remark by Mysskin did not go down well with the social media users, who slammed him for promoting smoking and being insensitive to the health hazards of tobacco. Some also pointed out that Mysskin was sharing the stage with producer Boney Kapoor, whose wife Sridevi had passed away due to cardiac arrest.

Interestingly, Mysskin also said that he did not know much about Boney Kapoor but he knew Sridevi, who was one of the best actresses in the world. He also expressed his admiration for Sridevi’s acting and recalled her films. Mysskin then concluded his speech by asking everyone to drink, smoke and enjoy the night.

This further irked the netizens, dissatisfied for his comment and claiming that he setting a bad example for his fans. Mysskin is currently working on his directorial Pisasu 2, which has been in the delay since the pandemic. He is also playing important roles in upcoming Tamil films Leo and Maaveeran.
