It further states, "Our multi-disciplinary team of clinicians has been actively collaborating with national and international experts, and continue to closely monitor his vital parameters". The development has come when people across the state had offered a mass prayer at the respective places on Thursday at around 6 pm for wishing and praying for the speedy recovery of the playback singer, who sung over 40,000 songs in 16 different languages.
On Thursday, SPB's son SP Charan released a video message and said, "There has not been any development in my father's health condition so far. But like I said, we are keeping the hope alive and faith alive and we are confident that all the prayers that are being showered upon him and his family are definitely going to help him recover as early as possible".
While speaking about the mass prayer, SP Charan thanked all those who engaged in the mass prayer on Thursday. "We as a family are very grateful for this love and affection and the prayers". On Wednesday, the hospital said that he remains in a critical state under the support of the ventilator and ECMO and in the recent bulletin, the hospital said the treating doctors have reached out to the international experts regarding his treatment.
On August 5, SPB said that he has tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection and he was admitted to the MGM Hospitals in Chennai. While initially, he said he had a mild infection and he would be discharged in two days, his health condition had taken a wrong turn last week after the hospital reported that there was a setback in his health and he was moved to the ICU. He has been getting treated in ICU since then.
