Simbu starred 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' is all set for an OTT release, nearly a month after hitting the theatres. Helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the movie has a successful run in the theatres across and beyond the borders. It got released on September 15 and received positive reviews and the movie's songs quickly rose to the top of the most-played list, thanks to legendary music composer AR Rahman.
Bankrolled by Ishari Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu was made with a budget of Rs 30 crores and in short span of time, the movie has grossed over Rs 50 crores. Following a successful run at the box office, the movie is now marching to amuse the OTT audience. According to reports, the movie will get released on Amazon Prime Video.
The movie will be streaming on Amazon from October 13. The OTT giant took to Twitter on Tuesday and wrote, "Take an unvarnished look at the gangster world. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu on Prime, Oct 13." The movie comes with two parts and the first part 'The Kindling' has been released and taken audience to an intriguing and thrilling ride.
Composing the music for the movie, AR Rahman has marked his third collaboration with Gautham Vasudev Menon after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. Initial reports claimed that Aha Tamil OTT had purchashed the streaming rights of the movie but it has eventually been bagged by Amazon Prime Video.
While Simbu played the lead role, Siddhi Idnani made her Tamil debut through the movie and Radikaa Sarathkumar, Siddique, Neeraj Madhav, Bava Chelladurai, and Appukutty played important roles. The film follows the rise of one names Muthu who comes to Mumbai in search of livelihood and becomes a gangster and it was distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.
