Simbu's Maanaadu is ready for OTT release: Here's when and where you can watch!

Simbu's blockbuster hit movie 'Maanaadu', helmed by Venkat Prabhu, is all set to reach the hands of fans and audience as it has been announced that the time loop movie is ready to get released on the OTT platform. The movie hit the big screens on November 25, after episodes of deferment, and it has garnered positive reviews from across and beyond the borders as the fans had celebrated the massive comeback and transformation of Simbu. 

The movie has now been slated for an OTT release and the announcement was made within three weeks of its theatrical release. Maanaadu will be released on the SonyLIV platform on December 24, nearly a month after hitting the theatres. Sharing a glimpse of the movie, SonyLIV took to social media on Tuesday and wrote, "The Biggest Blockbuster of the Year! Maanaadu, starring Silambarasan TR and SJ Surya streaming soon on SonyLIV. Loop starts soon." The date was announced on Wednesday. 

The announcement of the OTT release has become a surprise to the fans even as the movie is still running in the theatres successfully, creating records in the box office. Maanaadu has revived Simbu's market and the actor had a comeback both physically and commercially. The screenplay and the driving of the story have been lauded for its huge success and the blockbuster hit had also given a good opening for the artists who worked in the movie. 

Bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi under the banner of V House Productions, Maanaadu is directed by Venkat Prabhu. While Simbu played the lead role, SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, SA Chandrasekhar, YG Mahendran, Vaagai Chandrasekhar, Premgi Amaren, Karunakaran, Manoj Bharathiraja, and Arvind Akash had played important roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music and while the total budget of the movie was estimated at Rs 15 crore, the reports say that Maanaadu had crossed over Rs 100 crore in the box office, becoming one of the blockbuster movies of the year. 

With the positive opening, Simbu is currently in the outing with Gautham Vasudev Menon for the movie 'Vendhu Thanindathu Kaadu'. This movie has brought back one of the successful trios- Simbu, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and AR Rahman after five years. The movie's teaser was released last week and promised Simbu's thrilling adventure and dynamic comeback. Vendhu Thanindathu Kaadu will be produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International. Simbu plays the lead role and Kayadu Lohar, Raadhika, Siddique, and Neeraj Madhav will play important roles.
