Simbu to have this special feature role in STR 48 with RKFI! Here's what we know...

The much-awaited STR 48, starring Silambarasan TR and produced by Kamal Haasan, has finally coming to floors soon. The movie, directed by Desingh Periyasamy, is a period drama with a whopping budget of 100 crores. But that’s not all. The latest buzz is that Silambarasan will be seen in a dual role in the film, adding more excitement to the project.

According to sources, Silambarasan will play two characters with distinct identities and looks. The actor has reportedly undergone a physical transformation for both the roles and has been working hard to perfect his performance. The last film, the actor took triple roles was Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan, directed by Adhik Ravichndran.

The film STR48 also marks the first collaboration between Silambarasan and Kamal Haasan, who is not only producing the film but also making a cameo appearance. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the two stars share the screen for the first time. The film also has a stellar cast of supporting actors, including Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

STR 48 is expected to be a pan-India entertainer with high-octane action sequences and stunning visuals. The film will be shot in various locations across India and abroad. The deets about the music composer is still being tight-lipped. But sources say that it will be AR Rahman or Anirudh Ravichandran.

Sources also say that the makers are planning to release the film on the occasion of Pongal 2024. The versatile star was last seen in Pathu Thala directed by Obeli N Krishna. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
