Veteran actress and BJP leader Khushbu has on Monday - January 10 put out a shocking tweet that she has tested positive for the Covid-19 pandemic and has isolated herself at her home. She announced she has contracted the viral infection on social media and several fans and leaders have been extending their wishes and prayers to her for a speedy recovery. 

She said she had developed a running nose and appealed to everyone who had come in her direct contact to get tested. She wrote, "Ok. Finally, Covid catches up with me after dodging last 2 waves. I have just tested positive. Till last eve I was negative. Have a running nose, did a test n Voila! I have isolated myself. Hate being alone. So keep me entertained for the next 5 days. N get tested if any signs (sic)." 

Replying to the wishes from a Twitter user for her speedy recovery, the actor-turned-politician has said that she has absolutely mild symptoms. Khushbu is the latest prominent face to get infected with the pandemic amid the soaring cases of Covid and the Omicron variant across and beyond Tamil Nadu. Earlier, the stars like Kamal Haasan, Arjun, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Arun Vijay, Vishnu Vishal, Trisha, and Meena had tested positive for the pandemic. 

According to Tamil Nadu Health Department, the state has recorded 12,985 Covid cases, 1,808 discharges, and 12 deaths on Sunday - January 9. Overall, the state has recorded 28,00,286 cases so far as of Sunday of which 51,335 are active, 27,12,096 were discharged, and 36,855 had succumbed to the viral infection. So far, the state has reported 185 cases of the Omicron variant of which 179 cases have been recovered and discharged.
