In a shocking piece of news, a 27-year-old woman, who got married last month, has committed suicide as there was no restroom in her husband's home. The incident has happened in the Cuddalore district and the woman breathed her last in JIPMER Hospital, Puducherry on Monday. 

According to reports, 27-year-old Ramya was a graduate and pharmacist in a private hospital. She got married to her beau Karthikeyan on April 6. They had tied the knot after two years of a love affair and recently, Ramya had returned to her parent's home after the marriage. She has told her husband that she would return to his home only after he built a toilet. 

Karthikeyan had begun the work of constructing a toilet in his home while Ramya was in her parent's home. However, on May 6, Ramya's mother, who returned home from her work, was shocked to see her daughter hanging and struggling for breath. Ramya was immediately taken to the Cuddalore government hospital, where she was treated for two days.

She was then taken to JIPMER, Puducherry. Amid the treatment, Ramya had died on Monday. The reports say that while the police are probing the death as per the statement from Ramya's mother, the officials are also probing the case from an angle that whether she had committed suicide after her father didn't approve of her marriage.  

Local Police Inspector Kavitha has said that there was no suicide note from Ramya and Ramya's mother, in her complaint, said she was unhappy over the lack of a toilet at her husband's home. On the other hand, the police are also probing whether she had committed suicide after Ramya's father was not happy with the marriage. It has been reported that Ramya's family is a Naidu while Karthikeyan is a Vanniyar. Ramya's father had expressed his displeasure and he also didn't attend the wedding to show his opposition.
