In a shocking piece of news, the son of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Tamil Nadu was arrested in Chennai for killing a rider in Neelankarai, on the outskirts of the city. 28-year-old Anbarasan is the son of a DSP from Vellore and he was among the four people who were arrested by the police on Thursday - February 2.
All the four men have been accused of running over a biker and killing him. The deceased biker was identified as 30-year-old Madan Kumar from Thanjavur. DSP's son Anbarasan was driving the car that killed Madan Kumar. It has been reported that four of them were consuming alcohol and heading to Mamallapuram.
Madan Kumar was returning home in the late hours of Thursday after closing his tea shop in Neelankarai. He was driving his two-wheeler on the side of the road when the car ran over him. The car has also rammed on another man, named Shankar (50). The latter had suffered severe injuries and has been getting treated at the Government Royapettah Hospital.
It has been reported that the local people have detained the driver, who was DSP's son, and three others. However, the other person who was in the car had fled the spot. After being informed about the incident, Adyar police officials have arrived at the spot and sent the body of Madan Kumar to perform an autopsy. A case has been filed against the four persons under the sections of culpable homicide, overspeeding, rash and negligent driving. All of them have been taken under the judicial custody.
