In a shocking piece of news, two ADMK cadres were killed while they were on their way to attend the party's General Council meeting that was held in Chennai on Monday - July 11. They were killed in accidents and the concerned police department has filed a case.
According to reports, two ADMK cadres and a school student died in separate road accidents in Mudichur and Melmaruvathur on Monday. The police said that at around 5.30 am on Monday, a lorry which was heading towards Tindivanam from Chennai was speeding on the National Highway near Maduranthagam during which the driver had lost control and rammed into a van that was coming from the opposite direction.
The van was carrying 19 passengers and all of them were from Tiruvannamalai and 13 of them were travelling to Chennai to attend the ADMK General Council meeting in Vanagaram. After the accident, all the passengers suffered injuries and they were admitted to a private hospital in Melmaruvathur. Later, 65-year-old Annamalai and 40-year-old Parasuraman died after failing to respond to the treatments. They both were ADMK cadres.
The accident and the death of two cadres have shocked the party leaders amidst the incessant political turmoil in the party. The concerned police department has filed a case and the officials are searching for the lorry driver, who fled the spot after the accident. In another shocking incident on the same day, a schoolboy died in Mudichur while he was on his way to school.
He died after his bicycle was rammed by a lorry in Mudichur. The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old Lakshmipathy, who was a resident of Lakshmipuram in Tambaram. He was a class 11 student and died on the spot after suffering brutal injuries to his head.
