In a shocking piece of news, two fans of Superstar Rajinikanth had vandalized the theatre in Chennai by breaking its window after they were denied tickets for the actor's movie 'Annaatthe' that was released on Diwali. The incident had attracted the intervention of the Chennai Police and the cops have been searching for the suspects involved in the act.
According to reports, the incident had happened on Thursday, on the first day of the movie release, at a theatre in Koyambedu, Chennai. Two men had broken the window of the theatre after they didn't get tickets to watch the movie. The two men were part of a five-member gang who came to watch the movie and they all were in an inebriated state, under the influence of alcohol.
The gang had entered the theatre at around 11 pm on Thursday and the theatre staff didn't give them tickets as all the cinema halls within the premises were full and that they were drunk. However, the gang had argued with the staff and they refused to leave the theatre. After heated arguments, the gang had walked out of the theatre during which two members of the gang had broken the windows of the theatre hall by using stones.
As two men had vandalized the theatre, Ramalingam, the theatre manager, had filed a complaint to the CMBT Police and based on the complaint, the police had registered a case against the suspects and launched the probe. The officials had also retrieved CCTV camera footage in the theatre to identify the suspects and they had intensified the manhunt to nab the gang.
Annaatthe has hit the theatres on Thursday -November 4 as a Diwali special. The much-expected movie has received mixed reactions from the fans and audience and the young fans had expressed disappointment over several flaws in the movie. Bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his own banner of Sun Pictures, Annaatthe is directed by Siva and while Rajinikanth plays the lead role, the movie has an ensemble cast with Nayanthara, Khushbu, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu, Soori, Prakash Raj, and Sathish played important roles. D Imman has composed the music and editing and cinematography were done by Ruben and Vetri respectively.
