In a shocking piece of news, a local BJP leader was shot dead in Gurugram, Haryana on Thursday - September 1. The police have registered a murder case and launched a probe into the death of the BJP leader, who was sacked to death in a public place.
According to reports, BJP leader Sukhbir Khatana was shot dead by five unidentified people inside a cloth showroom in Gurugram in the BJP ruling state of Haryana. The police said that Khatana is a former chairman of the Sohna Market Committee and after sustaining an attack, he was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
Sukhbir Khatana was said to be close to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. According to police, the incident took place when the BJP leader went to buy clothes at a showroom on Gurudwara road near Sadar Bazar. After the incident, he was taken to the hospital but he passed away.
Khatana was killed at a high time when he was preparing for the Zila Parishad elections. The Gurugram police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation into a heinous crime. The officials are examining the CCTV footage and other evidence to trace the assailants.
