Shocking: ADMK MP passes away due to heart attack during campaigning for TN Polls!

In a shocking development, ADMK Rajya Sabha MP Mohammed John has on Tuesday passed away at the age of 73 due to cardiac arrest amid campaigning for the party for the upcoming assembly polls. The sudden demise of the parliamentarian had saddened the party leaders and members as he had been active on the campaign trail and meeting the voters to seek their votes to the ADMK's candidate. 

According to reports, the 73-year-old septuagenarian was campaigning in the morning hours of Tuesday in Ranipet and he returned home at noon for lunch after completing a round of campaigning. He was reportedly taking rest in his home ahead of preparing for another round of campaign on Tuesday evening.

However, he had suddenly developed chest pain after which he was rushed to the Government District Hospital in Walajapet in a car. He complained of severe pain following which he was shifted to an ambulance for first aid and reached the hospital. The doctors had performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and despite the efforts, the doctors couldn't able to save him. 

According to a news agency, the superintendent of the District Headquarters said that the parliamentarian had a sudden heart attack leading to immediate collapse, and the doctors tried performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation but found that he had died on the way to the hospital. After declaring that he had passed away, the hospital had handed over the body to his relatives after which it was taken to his residence. 

Mohammed John had represented the Ranipet constituency in the Tamil Nadu assembly during 2011-2016. He was the Minister for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare for a brief period. After his tenure in the assembly, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu in July 2019 along with PMK Youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss. 

He had breathed his last at the age of 73 and when he has four more years in his hand as the Rajya Sabha MP. The parliamentarian had also served as a councilor of Ranipet municipality before entering the assembly. His demise had deeply shocked the ruling ADMK leaders and members as it had occurred amid the campaign trail and two weeks ahead of the assembly polls. The leaders have been paying tribute to the parliamentarian and expressing their condolences to his family members.
