In a shocking piece of news, an ADMK cadre has died after the party's flag pole fell on him during its repair work. The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Chellappan and he was a resident of Soorakottai near Maduranthakam in the Chengalpattu district. He was associated with ADMK and he has died in a fatal accident after the party's flag pole was fallen on him while repairing its damage. 

The ADMK's flag pole was close to Chennai-Trichy national highway and the pole was inaugurated by ADMK's interim general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami earlier this July. The pole was 100-feet tall and due to the recently-hit Mandous cyclone, the pole was heavily damaged. Following the damage, the local ADMK cadres have decided to repair the pole.  

The cadres had hired a crane to fix the damage and among the cadres, Chellappan was standing under the pole. While the damage was being repaired, the pole lost the balance and fell on Chellappan. He had sustained severe injury in the fatal accident and he was rushed to the Maduranthakam Government Hospital for further treatments. 

However, the doctors declared that Chellappan was brough dead. His demise has saddened the party cadres and leaders across the state and the local police have launched a probe into his death. The event has also sparked a demand from the people to remove such party flag poles, banners, and cut-outs erected by the political parties that are claiming lives.
