Where in world would a child get incessantly thrashed and tortured by his own mother? Horrifically, such an incident has happened in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh where a woman thrashes and tortures her own child multiple times and what is more shocking is that she deliberately took the video and showed how her child 18-month-old child was full of blood and scars after her torture. She had taken multiple videos and evidently, she assaults her child with no sense of worry on her face and she has now been arrested after her husband, who lives in Tamil Nadu, had lodged a complaint against her.
According to reports, the Tamil Nadu police had arrested the woman, a 22-year-old named Thulasi, on Monday and she was later produced in a court in Gingee, Tamil Nadu, post her arrest. A team of Tamil Nadu police had arrested the woman in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district, where she was living with her mother. Thulasi's estranged husband, 37-year-old Vadivazhagan, has filed a complaint with the police based on the video following which the police team rushed to Chittoor and arrested Thulasi.
Vadivazhagan and Thulasi got married in 2016 and they were living in Manalapadi village near Gingee and the couple has another child, aged four. Recently, they had developed a dispute and Thulasi left the house with her children and went to her mother's home in Chittoor and she had begun to torture her child and filmed that horrific activity. The incident had come to light after several videos of her torturing her child went rampant on social media. One of the videos shows that she repeatedly hitting the child's face by becoming deaf over the child's cry and she continues to beat the child on the mouth till the child starts bleeding.
She stops for a while and the reason for her pause is only to check her own hand after beating her child. She again stops and holds the child in front of the camera to show how the blood is bleeding from the face of the child. In some of the videos, she was seen grabbing the child's leg and hitting continuously as she never bothered about the tears of the toddler. These videos had shocked across and beyond the state and they were viral on social media. The reports say that Thulasi's relatives found the videos on her phone and took them to the attention of Thulasi's husband Vadivazhagan.
Based on the video, Vadivazhagan had immediately rushed to Chittoor and picked the children from Thulasi and brought them back to Villupuram with him. Vadivazhagan had approached the Sathyamangalam police and filed a complaint against Thulasi. In his complaint, he said that they have been living separately for forty days due to the dispute. Based on the complaint, the Sathyamangalam police had registered a case against Thulasi and booked her under sections 323 - voluntarily causing hurt, 355- assault with intent, and 308 - culpable homicide of the Indian Penal Code and under section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
A police team had rushed to Chittoor and arrested Thulasi on Monday. She was produced in a court in Gingee, Tamil Nadu. Some reports say that she had begun torturing the child after being questioned about her 'extramarital affair'. According to a news agency, a police official in Sathyamangalam police station has said, "We got information that the woman in the video is Thulasi, a resident of Madura Mettue Village near Manalapadi at Gingee in Villupuram district and we know that the child in the video is her son Pradeep." After the arrest, police had taken Thulasi to Government Medical College and Hospital in Villupuram for check-ups following which she was taken under custody.
