In a shocking development, the Kerala police have arrested a 45-year-old man for feeding beer to his minor daughter. A case has been filed against the father and he has been remanded into judicial custody for two weeks.
The development had stunned the state and the daughter was admitted to the hospital after she suffered health discomforts. According to reports, Radhakrishnan was arrested in Hosdurg in the Kasaragod district for feeding beer to his daughter.
The incident had happened on Sunday where Radhakrishnan had served the beer to his eight-year-old daughter while he was consuming the drink at his residence. After being fed with beer, the daughter had begun vomiting and developed health discomforts.
After knowing that her daughter had developed uneasiness, her mother had taken the eight-year-old to the local hospital. She was treated at the hospital and the hospital officials had alerted the police that a minor girl was given beer by her own father. After the alert, the police had arrived at the hospital and recorded the girl's statement in the presence of her mother.
Based on the recorded statement, the police had filed a case against Radhakrishnan and he was later arrested. He was then produced before a local court and remanded under judicial custody for two weeks. The case was filed under section 328 - causing hurt by means of poison, intoxicating, or unwholesome drug, with intent to commit an offence under IPC and section 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
