Shocker in Chennai: A woman kills her son and commits suicide!

In a shocking piece of news, a woman in Chennai had killed her son and committed suicide on Wednesday after she can't able to brace up the death of her husband, who died due to the Covid-19 pandemic four months ago. The woman was living with her sister and was under the depression of losing her husband. On Wednesday, when her sister of out of home, she had decided to end her life and killed her son and committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling. 

According to reports, the deceased were identified as Baleswari of Villivakkam and her eight-year-old son Narayanan. Baleswari's husband Ravi (48) had died due to the pandemic four months ago. He was running a cellphone shop in Villivakkam and his family were living a stable life before the demise of Ravi. However, the untimely demise of Ravi had distressed the family and Baleswari was leading a depressed life with her son. 

After seeing her life, Baleswari's sister Muthulakshmi has taken the former and her son to her home in Madambakkam to bring her out of depression. Muthulakhsmi had stayed vigil with Baleswari as the latter had shown tendencies of suicide after her husband's death. She isolated herself from her relatives and friends and became unspoken. On Monday, Muthulakshmi had gone to Tuticorin with her family, leaving Baleswari and her son alone to home. 

Muthulakshmi had informed her neighbours to take care of her sister and frequently check on her. However, the neighbours had found that the house remained locked and lights were on even at night. After smelling something suspicious, the neighbours had knocked on the doors only to find there was no response. With an eerie development, they then had alerted Selaiyur police. 

Based on the information, Selaiyur police had rushed to the spot and broke the door. They were shocked to see the mother and son hanging from the ceiling. Police suspect Baleswari had killed her child first and she had later hanged herself. The officials had sent the bodies to the Chrompet government hospital for an autopsy and the police said that Baleswari didn't able to overcome the loss of her husband and was under depression. A case has been registered under the grounds of suicide and the police had launched further investigations.
