In the midst of a spike in Covid cases in Maharashtra, some of the top Bollywood stars have tested positive for the pandemic and they have been surfaced with a queue of wishes from their fans for a speedy recovery. The development has come when Maharashtra has reinforced the mask mandate in the public places and added a thousand fresh Covid cases to its tally.  

On Sunday, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has tested positive for the Covid-19 pandemic. Besides Shah Rukh Khan, popular actress Katrina Kaif has also been confirmed to have contracted the viral infection. Notably, it is the second time that Kaif has got tested positive for the pandemic and she had in April 2021 announced that she was infected by the disease. 

It has been reported that Kaif had tested positive recently and she was pushed to skip the IIFA 2022 ceremony in which her husband Vicky Kaushal has won the award of Best Actor. Several Bollywood stars have tested positive for the virus in recent times and on Saturday, actor Karthik Aaryan has announced he had tested positive. Recently, Akshay Kumar had also tested positive due to which he had cancelled his visit to the India pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival.  

Several fans wish the stars a speedy recovery. Wishing Shah Rukh Khan a speedy recovery, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter and wrote, "Just came to know that our Brand Ambassador Shah Rukh Khan has been detected Covid positive. Pray for the fastest recovery for the superstar. Get well Shah Rukh! Spring back asap!" 

Last Friday, Shah Rukh Khan has gained more spotlight through the announcement of his next movie 'Jawan' directed by Kollywood's Atlee. About the movie, the actor said, "Jawan is a universal story that goes beyond languages, geographics, and is for all to enjoy. Credit goes to Atlee for creating this unique film, which has also been a fantastic experience for me as I love action films! The teaser is just the tip of the iceberg and gives a glimpse into what's to come." 

On Saturday, actor Karthick Aaryan shared on Instagram that he had tested positive for the pandemic.  He had announced a health setback when he was busy promoting his latest outing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Maharashtra has on Sunday reported over 1,400 new Covid cases and Mumbai has accounted for 60% of total cases in the state. 

Last week, the state government has reinforced the mask mandate in public places after a sharp surge in Covid cases. Maharashtra Minister Aaditya Thackeray has asked people to wear masks and not to panic amid the surging cases.  He said, "There is no need to panic, fatalities are not increasing. I appeal to the public to wear a face mask and receive a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
