Tiruchirappalli, the central district in the state of Tamil Nadu has been hosting series of horrific scenes of robberies in short period of time that had revealed the major setbacks in the security grids and apparatus as these robberies had happened in the high secured areas.
Adding to the line of uncertainty, the district had today reported with the alleged robbery of about 1.50 crores in BHEL Employees Co Operative Bank, the bank which is resting inside the premises of Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited, the Central government owned company. It has been reported that the district's Superintendent of Police Ziaul Haqe is currently probing the case towards locating the suspects who involved in embezzling the bank that is the part of Central government led company.
Exactly one month before, on October 2nd 2019, Trichy district had hosted heinous scenes of robbery in Lalitha Jewelry where two robbers had stormed the store by wearing the masks in which they had reportedly looted the jewels and ornaments worth of Rs 13 crores and the entire state was left with shock waves after the incident came to the spotlight following which the district police had installed a special team to hunt the suspects behind this mounting robbery and days later, the suspects had surrendered before the judicial bodies. During the investigations, it was exposed that one of the prime suspects Murugan was identified to have played important role in major theft cases in states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
The police team had later exhumed the spot in which Murugan had allegedly buried the jewels looted in Lalitha Jewelry and he has been under captivity along with the other suspect with the connection to the cases filed against him beyond the states.
In the month of January 2019, the robbers cracked down the branch of Punjab National Bank in Trichy's Samayapuram and evaded by looting the cash and jewels from five lockers. The initial inquiries had pictured that the robbers had entered the bank by drilling a hole on the wall. The reports say that around 2,000 people have an account with this bank and the lockers had nearly four kilograms of gold. Nearly after nine months since the robbery was reported, in the month of October, the Trichy police had identified that the robbers of Lalitha jewelry had a strong connection in the bank robbery.
The latest developments on the investigations of robbery in BHEL Co Operative bank had revealed that the suspect had covered the face through mask to fish the cash that was reportedly left unsecured in the bank. The sources had cited that the police has been analyzing the surveillance of the bank to identify the whereabouts of the suspect.
