Senior BJP leader quits the party and decided to join the rival: Reveals why he quits!

Senior BJP leader of Maharashtra Eknath Khadse has decided to quit the party and to join its rival Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the reports close to the developments had confirmed that he would be joining the NCP on Friday.

The development has come days after Khadse was surfaced with the speculations that he would be quitting BJP and join NCP led by veteran politician Sharad Pawar. Khadse was the senior leader of the Central ruling party in Maharashtra and he had served as a state minister in the previous government led by BJP CM Devendra Fadnavis.

In 2016, Khadse was forced to step down from the post of the minister under the grounds of allegations of corruption. Following a decline, he had been sidelined by the party for the last two to three years and as he was losing his representation and political grounds in the state, he had developed dissent against the BJP and against Devendra Fadnavis.

As the BJP was ousted from the rule last year after Shiv Sena's Uddav Thackeray had formed the new government with the alliance of the Congress and the Nationalist Congress parties, Khadse has been mulling to switch side and to start a fresh political stint against the Central ruling BJP. For the past few days, he was strongly speculated that he would be quitting the party.

Amid such speculations, it has been confirmed that Khadse would be quitting the BJP and joining the NCP on Friday. Maharashtra minister and state NCP Chief Jayant Patil has, on Wednesday, said, "I've been informed that Khadse has resigned from the BJP. We have decided to give him an entry in NCP. He will be formally inducted into NCP at 2 pm on Friday".

According to reports, Khadse would likely be joining the NCP with his daughter Rohini Khadse Khewalker, who is the chairperson of Jalgoan District Central Co-operative Bank. The reports say Khade had developed dissent against the BJP after he was denied a party ticket in the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly polls. His dissent had grown further after his daughter was defeated in the assembly polls.

Speaking to a news agency, dissented leader Khadse said that he has been pushed out of BJP and said that he is unhappy with Devendra Fadnavis and cited that the former Chief Minister was the reason for his dissent and quitting the party. He further stated that he wasn't given any assurance from the NCP and added that he will be joining the party alone and that he won't be bringing any MLAs and MPs along with him. According to ANI, Maharashtra BJP President Chandrakant Patil said he got the resignation from Khadse on Wednesday morning and the party has accepted it. Patil stated, "We give him our best wishes for joining a new party".
