Secret meetings with the top TN Minister...How authorities are tossing up MK Stalin's order?

When MK Stalin assumed the Office of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the first time, he was very keen on structuring his governance with more independence and transparency. His drive of providing transparent rule was as certain as his trajectory towards beating the COVID-19 pandemic. As soon as he assumed office, he passed a crucial order to his ministers and party leaders to stay off from recommendations for the public offices.

His order to restrict the recommendations for the appointments of several key posts was meant to keep the independent appointments across the state to help the government in every corridor. MK Stalin has directed the ministers and senior party leaders neither to bring him recommendations for appointments nor to consider recommendations from the government authorities to win a key post. He also had ordered the party cadres to avoid the celebrations and grand welcome to the ministers who arrive at their respective districts.

It's typical for the political sky in Tamil Nadu to witness a pile of clouds of recommendations and bids from the authorities seeking a powerful post from the newly elected government. The grand reception for the ministers is a part of the old political traditions in the state. However, after assuming office, Stalin has ordered to curb such events in light of the pandemic as he wished that his entire government mechanism should independently concentrate on combating the virus spread.

However, amid Stalin's order, some of the authorities are surrounding and holding a secret meeting with a top Tamil Nadu minister seeking his aid towards retaining their current post or getting a key post in the new government. In a way of tossing up Stalin's order, the authorities are requesting the minister's intervention to get their things done. According to our sources, KN Nehru is the minister whom the authorities in Trichy are meeting in the past few days.

Nehru is a bighead in Trichy and he has been serving as the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development in the current government. The sources say that at least one top police official meets the minister regularly wherever he goes in Trichy. The officials bring him the request of aiding them in retain the office or recommending new appointments to them. One of the main reasons is that the authorities wish to hold their posts despite Stalin's rejig drive across the state.

They also express their wish to the minister to continue their jobs in Trichy as most of them had well settled in the district. Some of the authorities are seeking that they have to be posted in the wealthiest areas in the district. The sources say that the former Assistant Commissioner of Intelligence Division in Trichy has been meeting the minister regularly with the recommendation for his successor. Another police official is moving close to the minister through the help of the former Deputy Mayor of Trichy with the view of obtaining the top post in the police department to lead one of the important zones in the district.

The sources say that the authorities are waiting to meet KN Nehru in a fashion of how the party members of the ADMK wait to meet the then party's supremo J Jayalalithaa. The authorities are defying the orders of Chief Minister Stalin and are exercising the meet with the ministers. It has been reported that the authorities are travelling along with the ministers to all places without sticking to the lockdown and guidelines and such events had left the people in a state of worry.
