Exactly a day after unveiling the final list of candidates and constituencies for the upcoming assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, DMK President MK Stalin has on Saturday released the party's manifesto amid being surfaced with large anticipations over the party's bid of cultivating the votes. In an unprecedented fashion, DMK's manifesto has been baked with 500 poll promises for the assembly polls.
The manifesto was prepared by the committee headed by DMK's Treasurer TR Baalu and the manifesto was released by Stalin in the presence of the senior leaders and through the poll promises, the party has unfolded fresh talking points on the campaign trials to cover the people. The manifesto has been made up of assurances of waiving off the student loans, introducing a bill to ban NEET, free transport for women in the government buses, and prioritizing Tamil people in the employment corridors. - DMK will urge the Central government to make Thirukkural a national book.
- A special court will be installed to probe the corruption charges against the ADMK ministers.
- NEET exam will be scrapped and education will be inducted into the state list from the concurrent list.
- The assembly events and sessions will be broadcasted live and DMK will establish 500 Kalaignar canteens across the state with the view of alleviating the hunger of the poor.
- A subsidy of Rs 10,000 will be provided for small-scale farmers to procure electric motors and Rs 10,000 will be offered for Autoworkers to buy an auto-rickshaw.
- The first graduate in the family will be prioritized in the government jobs and Rs 100 will be provided as a subsidy for buying gas cylinders.
- DMK government will be decreasing the fuel price to Rs 4 per liter of diesel and Rs 5 per liter of petrol. The government will address the petitions from the people in 100 days and it will establish a special welfare forum for journalists and reporters.
- Around 205 priests, who are waiting for jobs after completing the training, will be offered jobs immediately.
- DMK government will work towards making the Tamil language mandatory till 8th standard and milk will be provided for the school students.
- Women can transport in the city buses with free-of-cost across the state. Buses like MTC and other state-owned town buses will offer free travel for women.
- In a significant announcement, Stalin said that the education loans of the students below thirty years of age will be waived off after DMK comes to power.
- Along with the education loans, the loans obtained by the self-help groups across the state will also be waived off the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme will be increased to 150 days from 100 days.
- DMK government will provide Rs 4000 as a one-time payment for the rice ration cardholders who were hard hit and vulnerable by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Like Chennai, the Metro rail system will be launched in Salem, Madurai, Trichy, and Tirunelveli if DMK comes to power.
- Free napkins will be provided to the girls studying in schools and colleges and the DMK government will increase the maternity fund to Rs 24,000.
- The DMK government will grant Rs 1000 every month for those who conserve native Jallikattu breeds and a sports city will be established in Chennai and the government will provide advanced training for all kinds of sport.
- The policy of paying the electricity charges for two months will be reduced to one month and the government will be presenting a separate budget for agriculture.
- The government will be forming a special ministry to implement the manifesto.
- Renovation of Hindu temples at Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 200 crore will be allotted separately for the renovation of mosques and churches in the state.
- DMK will press for an international probe for the Srilankan genocide and the government will establish a separate department for NRI Tamilians.
- Rs 15,000 loan without interest for small traders and old-age pension scheme for transport employees. One kilo of sugar will be provided extra every month in PDS shops and cable cars will be built for all hill temples.
- Night shelters for people living without a roof over their heads and a special scheme to protect TN rivers from pollution and compensation for doctors, medical workers, and frontline workers who died due to COVID-19.
- 75% reservations for Tamils in jobs in Tamil Nadu industries and home medical services for pregnant women. Government school students to get tablets with free internet.
While addressing during the release of the manifesto, Stalin said, "I too will stand by my words and this (manifesto) is my oath to the people". He added that the election manifesto is like a 'hero' in the elections. The DMK's manifesto has come with the prefix of Stalin's vision document for Tamil Nadu in the next ten years. On March 7, he had unveiled the vision document of DMK in the areas of the economy, agriculture, education, health, water, urban and rural developments. DMK has on Friday announced the final list of candidates and the state opposition parties will be directly contesting in 173 seats while the rest 61 seats were allotted to the allied parties. ADMK had also announced the candidates and the assembly polls will be witnessing a direct clash between ADMK and DMK 129 constituencies.
