Scary guests at Thanjavur hospital removed - What Jyothika said was true?

Days after veteran actress Jyothika's old video went viral across the social media, in which she highlighted that the Thanjavur government hospital has been badly maintained, the district administration has deployed various departments to clean the premises of the hospital and the cleaning drive has revealed its uncluttered grounds.

According to the reports, the cleaning drive had begun on Wednesday after the visit of the district collector and so far the people involved in the drive had removed 11 snakes from the hospital premises rising the speculations on how the government hospitals, which are the major resort for medical treatments for the poor, have been maintained in the state amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Municipal corporation, Public works department, and the fire services department of the district have been carrying out the cleaning efforts, which the district administration claimed as a regular cleaning exercise and it wasn't the response to what Jyothika said. The reports stated that of these eleven snakes, six are Russel vipers - which are venomous, three are worm snakes while the rest two were rat snakes.

The district collector has directed to clean the premises after he visited the hospital on Tuesday. Jyothika's speech was recently watered with controversy so does the discussion over the maintenance of Thanjavur government hospital. In her speech in JFW awards that held early this year, Jyothika said she visited the Thanjavur hospital for shooting a movie and saddened to witness the bad maintenance.

She made a comparison of well maintained Thanjavur Brihadeeswara Temple to the pathetic state of the hospital and appealed the people to provide equal regard to the hospitals and asked the people to donate and contribute to the development of the schools and hospitals like how they donate for temples. She said that schools and hospitals are very important and people would also donate to these institutions.

While most people had welcomed and supported her view, several right-wing supporters had criticized the actress by claiming that she had insulted Hinduism and temples. After taking Jyothika's comments on offensive grounds, they spread the critics across the social media platforms letting Actor Surya come into the picture. Surya had issued a response on Tuesday in which he said that he backs his wife Jyothika on her comments and iterated that Humanity is always above religion.
