By claiming that the Arya starred 'Sarpatta Parambarai' carries scenes that are misleading and against facts, ADMK leader and party's former MLA Babu Murugavel has issued a notice to movie's director Pa Ranjith, co-writer Tamizh Prabha, co-producer Shanmugam Dakshanraj, and also to the Amazon Prime Video, which exclusively streamed the movie on its platform.

Sarpatta Parambarai was released on July 22nd, 2021, and the movie has garnered a remarkable reception across and beyond the borders and has become one of the blockbusters movies of 2021. The movie has received positive critics and ratings on various platforms. It is the first sports action film from Pa Ranjith, which also had political ingredients and the movie revolves around the time of the Emergency in the mid-1970s and covered the boxing battle between two adversaries - Sarpatta Parambarai and Idiyappa Parambarai.

Both the factions carried politics with some characters were in the fashion that they are connected with the DMK and ADMK parties, the arch-rival in the state. Nearly a month after its release, ADMK leader Babu Murugavel has now issued a notice to the movie team by alleging that some of the scenes in the movie are inaccurate. 

In his legal notice, Murugavel, who is the state joint secretary of ADMK's legal wing, had alleged that some of the dialogues in the movie apparently discuss the arrest of the then Chief Minister Karunanidhi's son MK Stalin under the Maintenance of the Internal Security Act (MISA) after the Emergency was imposed. By citing that this dialogue is misleading, the ADMK leader has claimed that it totally misleads as no such incident had taken place in reality. 

Murugavel has said that MK Stalin was not arrested under the MISA and alleged that the scenes were kept by the moviemakers in favour of the DMK. He noted that some of the scenes in the movie pictures false propaganda and contains elements that are politically motivated to support the ruling party of Tamil Nadu. His notice has said that the Amazon Prime Video had failed in its responsibility of verifying the facts presented in the movies before releasing them on its platform. 

Murugavel's notice has demanded that the makers of the movie should remove certain dialogues and scenes from the movie or the makers must provide evidence that these scenes are factual and accurate. He also urged the makers to admit that the dialogue about MK Stalin's arrest during the emergency is misleading. However, the movie team is yet to comment on the legal notice issued by the ADMK leader. While Pa Ranjith has directed the movie, Arya, Dushara Vijayan, Pasupathi, John Kokken, Shabeer Kallarackal, Kalaiyarasan, Sanchana Natarajan, GM Sundar, John Vijay, and Anupama Kumar had acted in important roles. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music while Murali and Selva had done cinematography and editing respectively.
