Row of Sedition and the two sides of political hopefuls in Tamil Nadu!

Days after the 49 well known celebrities and activists have been booked under the grounds of sedition after they had collectively addressed to the Prime minister on demanding his action for the rampant rise of the hate crimes and mob lynchings against the religious and ethnic minorities, one of the actor turned politicians in Tamil Nadu Kamal Haasan had took his social media handle to voice against the row of trapping the celebrities under sedition.

Today, Kamal Haasan had tweeted his responses for the alleged sedition charges where he said that the Prime minister seeks a harmonious India and he had tabled his statements in the parliament that had confirmed his motive of building peaceful India and the actor further questioned the contradicting actions that lowers the Prime minister's aspirations with citing 49 of his peers who have been brought under sedition for expressing their intolerance.

In his next thread of the tweet, he had requested the higher judicial body to intervene in the case, that was lodged in Bihar with the directive of the state's magistrate court, to uphold the justice with democracy. The response came from Kamal Haasan at the same time when one of the eminent directors in Tamil cinema Bharathiraja had joined the line to condemn the act of sedition where he had accused the Central government on spearing robust laws against the voices of critics and alternatives and urged the government to set immediate withdrawal of the sedition charges levied against 49 celebrities.

While the voices against the flagging of sedition on those celebrities for addressing the Prime minister on the communal hate crimes gets intensified, one of the political hopefuls in Tamil Nadu Kamal Haasan had voiced against suppressing the freedom of expression but the other political hopeful Rajinikanth remains muted on the stage where the celebrating Superstar has been still reflecting failing face to place his stance on the sedition charges booked against his fellow companions.

The muted state of Rajinikanth had seemingly oiled the speculations on his pro BJP stand as he hadn't seen concretely voicing against the BJP government on its policies that were hugely accused and criticized by many of his colleagues and activists. With remaining muted on these aspects of curbing the voices through robust laws, Rajinikanth has been accused and condemned by the common people through the social media platforms that had enhanced after Kamal Haasan had reflected strongest stand of voicing against the sedition charges.

These 49 celebrities had written an open letter to the Prime minister in July 2019 and of those 49, Mani Ratnam, Anurag Kashyap, Ramachandra Guha, Aparna Sen, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Aparna sen, Revathy Asha were notable ones who have now been booked with sedition for writing to the Prime minister over the rise of intolerance, hate crimes and lynchings that are allegedly committed against Muslims, Dalits and other minorities.

In their letter, they had cited that 'Jai Shri Ram' has been becoming the chant for war cry and further urged the Prime minister to unleash the stringent actions against such hate crimes rather than just addressing the issue in the Parliament. The letter ends with their collective stand that says 'criticizing the ruling party does not imply criticizing the nation'.
