Superstar Rajinikanth has on Sunday returned home after three days of hospitalization in Chennai and he had released a voice message, expressing his gratitude for his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and wishes for his speedy recovery. Rajinikanth's homecoming has brought relief to his ardent fans and the celebrations back to relish 'Annaatthe' Diwali.
Rajinikanth was admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on October 28 after he complained of health discomforts. His sudden hospitalization had worried his fans and amid the assertions of a routine health check-up, the superstar had undergone a procedure and he was advised to be in hospital for a few days. He was admitted to the hospital last Thursday at around 7.30 pm and he had undergone an MRI scan, which had revealed a burst in a blood vessel. The actor was diagnosed with an infarction, which is a condition caused by obstruction of the blood supply to an organ or region of tissue.
While there had been a pile of speculations over his health condition, the hospital had on last Friday issued an official statement concerning Rajinikanth's health condition. It has affirmed that the actor is recovering well and will be discharged in a few days. In a statement that was signed by Kauvery Hospital's Executive Director Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, the hospital said, "Mr Rajinikanth was admitted in Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet, Chennai, yesterday (28th Oct 2021) following an episode of giddiness. He was thoroughly evaluated by the expert panel of doctors and was advised to undergo Carotid Artery revascularization."
"The procedure was performed successfully today (29th Oct 2021) and he is recovering well. He is likely to be discharged from the hospital after a few days", the hospital added. The statement had relieved the fans as the actor had been on the path of recovery. The sources in the know had said that he will most likely get discharged on Sunday and as reported, Rajinikanth had got discharged on Sunday and returned home.
Hours ahead of his discharge, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had visited Rajinikanth in the hospital and enquired about his health. Earlier, Stalin took to social media and wished the superstar a speedy recovery. After getting discharged, Rajinikanth had released a voice message through the mobile app that was launched by his daughter Soundarya in which he was heard thanking the fans for their prayers. He said, "My greetings to all. The surgery is over. I am doing very well. I returned home this night. My heartfelt thanks to all the good-hearted fans who had prayed for my health and my heartfelt thanks to my friends and everyone who enquired about my health condition."
Rajinikanth took to Twitter and released his photo and the link to his audio message after coming home and he wrote on Twitter, "Returned home". It is pertinent to note that last week, Rajinikanth had etched a history by becoming the laureate of India's highest honour for cinema, the Dadasahed Phalke Award that was bestowed on him by India's Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu. With the honour, Rajinikanth had met President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.
