The song was originally composed by Yuvan's father, musical maestro Illayaraja and was featured in the movie 'Michael Madana Kama Rajan', starred by Kamal Haasan, which was released in 1991. While the lyrics of the song was penned by Kavingar Vaali, it was sung by Malaysia Vasudevan and S Janaki. The same song has now been going rampant as it has reprised in the Dikiloona movie, in which Yuvan Shankar Raja was the music composer.
Besides the fashion of art and choreography, the song remains the same and has been winning hearts across and beyond the borders. Dikkiloona is a science-fiction romantic comedy movie written and directed by Karthik Yogi. The movie is bankrolled by Kotapadi J Rajesh under the banner of KJR Studios. It was released on 10th September on Zee5 OTT and has garnered a mixed review. While Santhanam plays the lead role with three characters, the movie stars Anagha, Shirin Kanchwala, Yogi Babu, and Arun Alexander in the important roles. Reputed cricketer Harbhajan Singh has also played a crucial role.

In a video that he released on Tuesday, Ilaiyaraaja has revealed that he has taken the tone for the song 'Per Vachaalum Vaikaama' from a classic Tamil language text 'Thirukkural', written by Thiruvalluvar. When Kavingar Vaali asked him how to write the lyrics for his tone, Ilaiyaraaja said that Thiruvallur had already written this tone in a couplet in Thirukkural and then the song was made and now, after three decades, it has again proved why it has been a masterpiece and celebrated by the masses.
