'Ready for the next': T Natarajan shares his proud moment as he is all set for historical New Year!

In what would become a historical New Year of opening a significant breakthrough in his cricketing career, young Indian pacer T Natarajan is all set to make his debut in the International Test Cricket by playing against Australia in the third test match that would begin from January 7 in Sydney.

The on-going Australian tour has been revealing how the young Tamil Nadu pacer is worth for the Indian team as he has been unfolding splendid performances against the host in the white-ball formats. His bowling magic had faltered the Aussie batsmen and was crucial in the ODIs and T20 series. While the host had won the ODIs, India had lifted the T20 trophy after defeating the strongest team.

India is currently in its third and final leg of the tour - four Test matches. While the host blew off the visitors in the first test, the Indian team led by Rahane had paid back the host in the second test. As both the teams are getting ready for the third test, India is building up its team amid unanticipated exits of key players owing to injuries. Umesh Yadav had sustained injuries during the 2nd Test match and he was ruled out from the rest of the series.

With days ahead for the next match, the selection committee has now picked T Natajaran to replace his co left-arm bowler Yadav. Through the induction, Natarajan is ready for his first Test cap as he would be making his Test debut in the upcoming match. In its statement, the BCCI said, "The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named T Natarajan as Yadav's replacement. Ahead of the Boxing Day Test, Shardul Thakur was added to the Test squad as Mohammed Shami's replacement after the senior fast bowler suffered a hairline fracture in his right forearm".

"Both Shami and Umesh Yadav will head to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for further rehabilitation of their injuries", the BCCI added. As Natarajan prepares for the historical New Year, he took to Twitter on Tuesday and shared his picture with the signature white jersey and said that he is ready for the next set of challenges. He wrote, "A proud moment to wear the white jersey. Ready for the next set of challenges".

On Tuesday, BCCI has confirmed that batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests and the decision to remove him from the squad was taken after he sustained injuries in his left wrist while batting in the nets during a practice session on Saturday.  Rahul will now return to India and he will also head to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Replying to Natarajan's Tweet, the International Cricket Council said, "The fairytale continues". The young pacer is ready to display his show in the red ball and at the current state, the four-match series between India and Australia currently stands leveled at 1-1 and the third test will be played at Sydney from January 7 and the final test will be hosted by The Gabba cricket ground in Brisbane from January 15.
