Rajini's 'Darbar' trapped in trouble over the dispute in settling the dues!

The Madras High court has, on Monday, directed the unexpected twist for the release of Superstar Rajinikanth starring 'Darbar' through hearing the petition that was filed by Malaysian based DMY creations which accused Lyca productions of failing to settle the outstanding dues.

Through its petition, DMY creations seek a directive from the High court to ban the release of Darbar that has been expected to hit the screens on January 2020, by stating that the company has provided Rs 12 crore loan to Lyca productions with the interest rate of 30% per annum during the production of Rajini's '2.0' in 2018 and Lyca still holds the dues that currently stands at Rs 23.70 crore and asked the state's top judicial body to halt the release of the movie 'Darbar' until Lyca clears the outstanding dues.

DMY creations had cited that the company bought the distribution rights for the movie 2.0 to distribute in Malaysia by paying Rs 20 crore to Lyca. By hearing the petition, the high court bench headed by Justice Govindharaj has issued a notice to the Lyca productions to table its response by January 2nd, exactly seven days before the scheduled release of the movie.

After wrapping up from Darbar, Rajinikanth has joined hands with director Siruthai Siva and Sun Pictures and the shooting has currently been going on under the title of 'Thalaivar 168'. 'Darbar' certainly gets added to the list of Tamil movies that had come through the last minute baffles and twists and the chapters of legal battles that challenged the movies under the grounds of falsification of the stories and over the row of financial disputes. 'Darbar' has been scheduled to release on January 9th, 2020 worldwide and the dispute comes at the high time when the fans and audiences of Superstar have been eagerly awaiting to welcome the New Year with Rajini's style of 'Darbar'.
