As the state of Tamil Nadu is just months away from the legislative elections, the state political parties are in the spotlight for its strategies and preparations to take on the rivals, and besides the political parties, actor and still political hopeful Rajinikanth has also been occupying the debates over his political entry as amid his prolonged delay, he has been around the speculations on whether he will launch his politics ahead of the assembly polls.
Rajinikanth has been revolving around the political debates when the state is progressing towards the election, which would be the first legislative elections for the superstar since he announced that he would enter politics in 2017. While the actor has been in the spotlight recently over his statement regarding his political entry, he further stirred the debate after he met the RSS ideologue in Chennai.
On Sunday, Rajinikanth met S Gurumurthy, who is the Chief Editor of Tamil Magazine 'Thuglak', in Chennai and the unanticipated meet had sparked the political debate and speculations across the state and among the political leaders. Gurumurthy has also been the RSS ideologue, hailing Modi's rule at the Center and his meet with the superstar ahead of the elections had surfaced strong questions around the actor on whether he is getting winded towards the BJP.
While the actor's fans ran into agog over the meet as they strongly expect him to enter politics regardless of the party that he supports, the meet was headlined across the state, which has been left in balance towards arriving at a final decision of whether Rajinikanth would enter politics. According to reports, the meeting between Rajinikanth and Gurumurthy had lasted for nearly 90 minutes and the meet has come when Rajinikanth was dubious about his political entry due to his health reasons.
The reports say that during the meeting, Gurumurthy had likely asked Rajinikanth to reconsider his plans to stay away from politics and pressed the superstar that he should enter politics. The BJP's ideologue had told Rajinikanth that he has to play a significant role in Tamil Nadu politics. In what has become a crucial meeting, the reports stated that the BJP is likely moving close to the actor in a bid to not miss him and his voice for the upcoming assembly polls in which BJP aims to have a breakthrough.
Gurumurthy has been acting as an ambassador of BJP largely assigned to bring Rajinikanth into politics in favor of the saffron party. Earlier, Gurumurthy had apparently said that Modi and Rajinikanth must align together which would be good for the state. As the Tamil Nadu BJP unit is filled with more celebrities, the party has been expecting Rajini's voice for the assembly polls.
The meeting has come days after Rajinikanth had stirred political debate through what was described as his statement to his close aides. It was said that his statement has got leaked public in which the actor was spelled doubtful in entering politics. Rajinikanth had highlighted his doctors' advice against entering politics during the COVID-19 pandemic and due to his health reasons. In his statement, he revealed that he had undergone a renal transplant four years ago and he signaled that he would refrain from entering politics in the absence of the COVID-19 vaccine.
However, hours later, Rajinikanth took to Twitter and said that the statement wasn't from him. The actor had claimed that the letter was fake and everyone knows that it was not his statement. By declaring the statement as fake, Rajinikanth perplexed the people by stating that the statement about his health condition and the doctors' advice that was mentioned in the letter was true and he said that he will discuss about the political entry with the office bearers and members of Rajini Makkal Mandram at the right time and announce his political stand.
