Kollywood director Nelson Dilipkumar has finally mitigated a sea of rumours over his next project with Superstar Rajinikanth. The rumours were sparked by speculations that Rajinikanth has decided to drop Nelson's directorial after his last directorial Beast had earned a pile of setbacks with more negative reviews. Nelson's affirmation for his next project has come when it has been reported that the movie shooting will hit the floors next month.

The project 'Thalaivar 169' was unveiled ahead of the release of Vijay starred 'Beast'. However, as the reviews for Beast weren't as promising as Nelson's previous movies, the reports had claimed that Rajinikanth has decided to reconsider his decision of accepting the project. Though Beast has been doing well commercially, it has garnered more negative reviews for its feeble plot with a major dearth of curiosity and exciting takeaways. 

As Nelson Dilipkumar had faced a backlash, the speculations were rife that Rajinikanth has decided to drop Nelson's directorial as he was not impressed with the reviews of Beast. Rajinikanth had watched a special screening of Beast that was organized by Sun Pictures recently and the Superstar hasn't relished the plot and it was reported that he had decided to change the director for Thalaivar 169. 

The absence of any official announcement in this regard had given room to the hearsays that were swirling for over a week. It was even reported that Rajinikanth has decided to pick Desingh Periyasamy or Atlee as the director of Thalaivar 169, though such things won't happen as the project has already been announced. Nelson Dilipkumar has now affirmed that he will be directing Rajinikanth in Thalaivar 169. 

Nelson has mentioned Thalaivar 169 in line with the movies that he directed in his Twitter Bio and divulged that the rumours were false and baseless. Thalaivar 169 will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures, which produced Beast, and helmed by Nelson. While Rajinikanth plays the lead role, Anirudh will be composing the music. The movie team is currently busy finalizing the rest of the crew members. The reports in the know have said that Rajinikanth has called Nelson to his home on Tuesday and told him to carry on the arrangements for Thalaivar 169.
