With just having one week to hit the big screens to present the New Year treat for his fans, Superstar Rajinikanth starring 'Darbar' has now taken the skies and started flying over the clouds as the Indian private aircraft 'SpiceJet' has displayed the livery of the Superstar and the movie title and some of the aircraft in its fleet have been carrying the star over the clouds.
The reports say that the Chennai-Hyderabad SpiceJet flight is one among the fleet which carries the livery. The promotion of the movie has come at the time when the movie release has been challenged by the Malaysian based DMY creations that had tabled its petition before the Madras High Court to ban the release of the movie until the Lyca Productions, which produced the movie, settled the outstanding dues. The livery that has been displayed on Spice Jet went viral after it came to the spotlight and the livery carries the superstar in police uniform along with the movie title.
On Monday, DMY creations sought a directive from the High court to ban the release of Darbar, by stating that the company has provided Rs 12 crore loan to Lyca productions with the interest rate of 30% per annum during the production of Rajini's '2.0' in 2018 and Lyca still holds the dues that currently stands at Rs 23.70 crore and asked the state's top judicial body to halt the release of the movie 'Darbar' until Lyca clears the outstanding dues.
When the case came up for the hearing on January 2nd before the high court bench headed by Justice Jayachandran, Lyca productions had asked for more time to place its response and with accord to that, the High court posted the case to January 3rd. The movie 'Darbar' will bring the battalion of stars in the screens as Superstar Rajinikanth and Nayanthara play the lead roles while the artists like Suniel Shetty, Yogi Babu, Jeeva, Prakash Raj, Prateik Babbar, Nivetha Thomas, Dalip Tahil, Soori, Manobala, Suman, Anandaraj and Bose Venkat have been inducted in the movie.
The movie is produced by Lyca Productions and directed by A R Murugadoss while Anirudh composed the music. Through 'Darbar', Rajinikanth unites with Lyca for the third time as the production company had distributed 'Kaala' and produced '2.0' earlier. This is Rajinikanth's second movie to fly over the clouds as in 2016, his movie 'Kabali' was promoted by AirAsia before the release of the movie.
