VK Sasikala's nephew and leader of AMMK TTV Dhinakaran has revealed that superstar actor Rajinikanth had telephoned him on Monday and enquired about Sasikala's health. The development of Rajini's phone call has come when Sasikala was on her way to Chennai and a week after she was discharged from the hospital in Bengaluru where she was admitted to get treated for the COVID-19 viral infection.
After serving a four-year prison sentence in the Parappana Agrahara Central prison in Bengaluru, Sasikala has arrived in Chennai on the wee hours of Tuesday amid a rousing welcome. She started from Bengaluru at around 7. 30 am on Monday and in the wake of grand reception, she took 23 hours to reach Chennai in an unprecedented fashion. She reached Chennai in the wee hours of Tuesday in the midst of a nationwide political spotlight.
After reaching Chennai, she directly drove to ADMK founder MG Ramachandran's residence in Ramapuram, Chennai, and after a royal welcome from her supporters, she paid tribute to the founder and garlanded his statue that was erected at his residence. Sasikala's MGR outreach had shocked the ADMK leaders, who are hoping to stop the political resurgence from her against them ahead of the state assembly polls.
After paying tribute, Sasikala has reached the residence that belongs to Krishnapriya, who is the daughter of Ilavarasi, in T Nagar, Chennai which has now become Sasikala's new address. As she has reached Chennai, the reports say that she would take some time to decide on when to plunge into active politics as she had already announced that she will definitely take part in the active politics, which had sent a strong message to the ADMK leaders that she is ready for the battle of taking over the party.
After she reached Chennai amid a rousing welcome, TTV Dhinakaran addressed the reporters on Tuesday during which he revealed that Rajinikanth had called him and enquired about Sasikala's health. Responding to the statement of Senior Minister and ADMK leader D Jayakumar that ADMK doesn't have any sleeper cells within the party, Dhinakaran said that there are sleeper cells in the ADMK and they don't have to be MLAs but they can be a party member.
In what has become a major revelation, Dhinkaran said that Rajinikanth had called him on Monday and enquired about Sasikala's health condition. He further asserted that he will be contesting in two legislative constituencies in the upcoming assembly polls - RK Nagar constituency in Chennai, where he is the incumbent legislator, and one of the constituencies in the Theni district.
