Rajinikanth is all set to unveil his political game: Is this his party name and symbol?

Superstar actor and political freshman Rajinikanth is all set to unveil his political game ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly polls as he is just days away from launching his political party and with the massive announcement of taking the political plunge, the superstar has been in the political spotlight and debates over his political strategies, name, and symbol of the party, and his long-term political plans.

Rajinikanth had brought the long wait to an end recently after announcing that he would be launching his political party in January 2021 and said that he would be making an official announcement concerning his political party on December 31st, 2020, which is three years after he had asserted to his fans and members that he would be entering politics. As he has announced that he would be contesting in the upcoming assembly polls, it has been projected that his political entry could cause a political storm during the assembly polls.

The actor and political freshman has been surfaced with debates and speculations over how his 'spiritual politics' will look like, his political party name and symbol, and his alliance in the polls. While it was strongly speculated that his outfit, Rajini Makkal Mandram, would be formed as his political party, the reports have now revealed that the actor has come up with a new name for his party and he has moved his petition to the Election Commission of India to register his party.

According to reports, Rajinikanth has named his party as 'Makkal Sevai Katchi' and on behalf of the actor, Stalin, who is the Thoothukudi district secretary of Rajini Makkal Mandram, has moved his petition to the Election Commission to register the party. The party has named the address in Ernavoor, Chennai as its registered address, and the reports say that it is the address of Stalin's residence in Chennai and the development has stirred speculations that Stalin is likely to lead the party while Rajini being the founder.

As the unrecognized political party, the reports say that the Election Commission has awarded 'Auto' as the symbol for his party. According to reports, Makkal Sevai Katchi is a party that has already been in the books of the Election Commission, and the name was little known and not familiar among the people. It has been reported that Rajini has decided to use this party, which was registered with the Election Commission in 2018 as 'All India people power party'. However, two months back, the name of that party was changed as 'Makkal Sevvai Katchi', which further raised speculations whether Rajinikanth had already registered the party in 2018, after deciding his political entry in 2017.

The petition to the Election Commission further reads that Makkal Sevvai Katchi would be contesting in all 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu and the Chief Election body has given Auto symbol for the party. The political observers projected that the actor would be using the already existing party with the Election Commission instead of registering a new one and when the actor had asked for a symbol similar to that of the Congress Party, the Election Commission has rejected his bid and given Auto symbol, through which the actor is expected to contest in the polls.

The developments had affirmed that the actor and political freshman has been preparing for active politics. He has proposed what has been pretty new to the Tamil Nadu political ecosystem - spiritual politics, to take on the Dravidian politics. As his political entry would re-shape and re-frame the political grounds in Tamil Nadu, his next move is been keenly watched by the political leaders. If everything goes well as he planned, Rajinikanth would be unveiling his party name in January 2021, three months ahead of the elections.

With the tight race is already in place, his entry would pose a huge challenge for the decades-old political parties given his fan base and strong call in the state for a political change. The superstar would be unveiling a major political drama ahead of the assembly polls with the rightist groups including BJP and Hindu outfits are mulling to form an alliance with the actor and the state ruling ADMK hadn't completely denied alliance with Rajinikanth. As he advances towards building his party, his fans and members have been strengthening the base across the state to have a significant breakthrough.

On December 3, days after meeting the district secretaries of his outfit, Rajinikanth had announced his political plunge and revealed that he is ready for spiritual politics and a miracle will happen in the upcoming assembly polls. In his statement that he released on Twitter, Rajinikanth said, "With great support from people, an honest, righteous, transparent, corruption-free, casteless, secular, and spiritual politics will be formed in Tamil Nadu in the upcoming assembly elections for sure. Wonder...Miracle...will happen!!!".

Following his announcement, Rajinikanth had appointed BJP leader Arjuna Murthy as the chief coordinator for his party and Tamilaruvi Manian as the manager. By vowing that the time has come to change the fate of Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth said, "'I am ready to give my life to the people of Tamil Nadu. A political change is extremely essential at this hour. If it is not done now, it will be never done. We should change everything. I request with folded hands to those who had made my livelihood, to stand by me".
