Actor and political hopeful Rajinikanth has been in the political spotlight ever since he asserted that he would enter politics when he met his fans three years back, in December 2017. However, the days ran with multiple speculations that he would be making his political entry sooner rather than later. He skipped the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and the local body elections in Tamil Nadu and announced that he would compete in the legislative elections.
As the state is just months ahead of hosting the legislative polls, which would be the first legislative election since Rajinikanth had announced his political entry, he has drawn a light and attention from the supporters and members of his outfit Rajini Makkal Mandram, the general public, and the political leaders. With still haven't shown any clear sign publicly that he would enter politics before the elections, the members and supporters are pushed to keep the hope that the superstar would enter politics not sure of when.
With the political parties in the state had prepared to take on the rivals in the campaign trials and polls, the attention has turned towards Rajinikanth on his political entry and the superstar has also been surfaced with a question on whether he can root his party if he starts just months before the elections. Amid such developments, his fans and the members of the outfit have developed a hope with the strong expectation that the superstar has been at the final phase of rolling out his political party.
According to reports, Rajinikanth has been gearing up to announce his political entry and the COVID-19 outbreak and restrictions have been pushing him to delay the announcement. The reports close to the development said that he would likely be launching the political party anytime between November this year or February next year, which would take him too close to the elections with which he can less likely create a political impact in the state without establishing a stronghold.
The members of his outfit had asserted that he would live up to his word and would launch the political party before the elections. They believe that his political entry is confirmed and he won't be looking back. The senior leader of the outfit said that they are ready to go ahead when the superstar announces the party name and symbol. Even though he hasn't given any directive, the outfit members are preparing to make the upcoming days count in taking the party and policies to the people ahead of the elections.
According to reports, the superstar mulls to launch his party between November and February and plans to organize a big political event in the southern city of Tamil Nadu which would be attended by lakhs of people and he also wishes to hold episodes of public meetings to take his party to the reach of the people and to compete against the Dravidian parties and the superstar has currently been consulting several leaders and stakeholders before launching the party to learn and frame policies.
Speaking to a news agency, Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath had claimed that Rajinikanth had entered the politics and the superstar is getting ready to launch his spiritual politics from January and he stated that the national attention will turn towards Tamil Nadu after the Bihar legislative elections. The members of the outfit eyes that the superstar would be leading a third front in the state. However, the spotlight around Rajinikanth is yet to unfold whether he would go for an alliance with the BJP or would compete independently or along with his friend Kamal Haasan.
Earlier, the state had witnessed multiple episodes around his political spotlight. In March 2020, before the lockdown was imposed, the superstar hinted that he would enter the politics after a revolution and said that he won't be the CM candidate of his party and would nominate someone who is most concerned about the welfare of the people. Two months back, the members of his outfit had carried the poster politics by stating that, "If not now, then never", as they signaled the superstar to launch the party sooner rather than later.
However, the senior leaders of the outfit had ordered the members to remove such posters and refrain from carrying out such actions without the consent of the actor and still political hopeful Rajinikanth. As the order had perplexed the fans over his political entry, the recent report concerning his political launch had made them keep the hope alive and if he skips the current election, he would less likely create an impact as a politician in the state, leaving the hope of the fans and members go vain.
