Soon after the wedding, a newly married couple in Tamil Nadu has been kept under home quarantine in their respective homes after the bride tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) with giving no time to relish on staring their new journey of life.
The bride and the groom have been taken under quarantine on Sunday. According to the reports, the 26-year-old bride is a native of Villupuram and has been working in Chennai while the groom is a native of Gengavalli in Salem district. The wedding was scheduled on May 24- Sunday and the bride and her family members came to Salem on May 21.
They came to the district through the Thalaiavasal check post where the authorities collected the swab samples of 12 people for COVID-19 testing and the sample of the bride confirmed that she has been contracted to the virus following which the healthcare officials advised her to stay under quarantine.
After learning that the wedding has been scheduled on Sunday, the authorities had permitted the wedding by imposing strict restrictions. The ceremony had the presence of 28 people close to the bride and the groom. By permitting the wedding, the healthcare officials had provided N95 masks, tablets, and hand sanitizers as part of the preventive measures and the people who attended the wedding wore masks.
The reports stated that the wedding was conducted at the residence of the groom and upon the conclusion of the ceremony, the newlyweds were instructed to stay under isolation in their respective houses for the next 28 days and the family members of both families would also be kept under surveillance and the officials will be collecting swab samples from all of them for further examinations.
The bride was included in Chennai's count as she tested positive for the virus at the check post and she was asymptomatic for virus and has been doing stable.
