Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has revealed that the Hogenakkal Integrated Drinking Water project is close to his heart and that it will be part of the league of important projects during his lifetime. Stalin has on Thursday - January 20 virtually laid foundations for several projects worth Rs 35 crore in the Dharmapuri district and while addressing the event, he had spoken about the Hogenakkal project which is a vital water source for the Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts.
While addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said, "Hogenakkal Integrated Drinking Water project was established during Kalaignar Karunanidhi's rule. Everyone knows my efforts behind bringing this project and if the important projects of my lifetime are counted, the Hogenakkal project will be one among them and is a very crucial project for the state." He further asserted that his government will introduce more schemes to the Dharmapuri district in the coming days.
"This project will definitely be expanded. I can't able to come to Dharmapuri for this ceremony owing to the Covid spread. I will definitely visit Dharmapuri after the spread mitigates. Furthermore, the road connectivity between Salem and Dharmapuri will be established at the rate of Rs 250 crore and the Hogenakkal Integrated Water project will be expanded at the rate of Rs 4,500 crore.
