V.K Sasikala, who was sentenced to four years in prison in the wealth defalcation case, will be released today (27.01.2021), authorities said. 

Earlier, the Police, led by Superintendent of Prisons Lata, handed over the documents to Sasikala at Victoria Government Hospital, where she was admitted for Coronavirus case after 4 years of prison lodge at Parappana Agrahara prison, Bangalore. 

Her supporters and volunteers have inferred outside to see the liberated Sasikala. Despite her release, Sasikala is expected to return to Chennai in the first week of February as she is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
