Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother Heeraben Modi has been hospitalized in a private medical facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. 99-year-old Heeraben Modi was admitted on Wednesday after her health deteriorated last night. Her hospitalization has come a day after the Prime Minister's brother Prahlad Modi and his family members were taken to a hospital in Mysuru following a fatal accident. 

According to reports, Heeraben Modi was facing a high-blood pressure and she was taken to UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre in Ahmedabad. On Wednesday- December 28, the hospital issued an official statement concerning Heeraben's health condition. The hospital said, "UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre, Ahmedabad hospital's spokesperson hereby informing that Hon'ble Prime Minister's mother is admitted at UN Mehta Institute of Cardialogy & Research Centre, Ahmedabad." 

"Her health condition is stable", the hospital added. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has in various occasions spoken about his bond with his mother and he visited her recently when he was in Gujarat during the assembly polls. In the pictures that were shared on December 4, Modi was seen touching the feet of his mother and he also had a tea with his mother. 

Earlier this June, Heeraben Modi celebrated her 99th birthday and Narendra Modi penned an emotional blog about her mother. Titling the blog 'Mother', he wrote, "A mother not only gives birth to her children, but also shapes their mind, their personality, and their self-confidence. My mother is as simple as she is extraordinary. Just like all mothers! As I write about my mother, I am sure that many of you would relate to my description of her. While reading, you may even see your own mother's image." 

After learning about her hospitalization, several political leaders have expressed their wishes to her for a speedy recovery. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's brother Prahlad Modi and the latter's family members have met with a fatal accident near Mysuru, Karnataka. The accident happened on National Highway 766 and Prahlad Modi and his family members were travelling in a SUV. 

When their  car was driving to Bandipur from Bengaluru, the vehicle had an accident near Kadakola, 14 kms away from Mysuru city, at around 1.30 pm on Tuesday. Five people were inside the car - Prahlad Modi, his son, daughter-in-law, a six-year-old boy, and the driver. It has been reported that the car had hit the road divider while negotiating a turn and the people inside the car had suffered injuries.

The incident was reported to the police after which the officials rushed to the spot. All the injured were taken to JSS Hospital in Mysuru for further treatments. Narendra Modi's brother and his family travelled in a Mercedes-Benz SUV and the visuals from the spot shown that the front side of the car was brutally damaged.
